Been working hard on this as of lately. Added some dr Tim’s as I wasn’t seeing much improvement with microbacter7. Lowered the gyre to eliminate the bubbles I was having from increasing the flow. Did find Steve’s LEDs were set too high and lowered the intensity significantly Let’s hope it keeps the new coral from bleaching.

Well I bought some test kits. API Saltwater kit and API Master Reef kit.

The results of Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, and pH are all 0/low, within range.

Ill follow up with a post on Cal, Alk and Phospates (<this being the target on where it falls and possibly the culprit of my issues I think).

***for those that know me here, I haven't tested water in years. Weekly water changes, and frequent small water changes when things begin to go south, occasional salinity check. I contribute this to large water systems previously. Now that I have a much smaller system, I felt its time to get back into this routine.***

Big 3 are in check according to API. Might need to get a more accurate kit for phosphates such as salifert. I’m not convinced of its accuracy. And believe that maybe the algae could be soaking it up.

Seems as if the dinoflagellates battle rages on. I tried a 3 and 5 day blackout. Dr Tims. I ran phosphate remover. I continue to do weekly water changes. I blow the rocks daily. Ill get a photo up when the lights come on.

Just dont know what to do.

I know dinos can really pop up in any environment, but typically they are most prevalent when nutrients are out of whack on the very low side. For phosphate tests at where we want to know numbers I would not get any test but Hannah. API doesnt go low enough I dont think Salifert does either. LR hannah is the way to go.

Took this advice and placed an order. Bought some Microbe-Lift too according to there website. Stay tuned.
