DAILY QUESTION: What kind of reef are you currently running? How would you describe it?

A future mixed reef that's currently a bunch of LPS corals, a few softies, a clam, and some BTA. I would describe it as fledging (at least the corals), all my fish are thriving.

DAILY QUESTION: What do you think is the most underrated benefit of high-quality reef lighting?

Reliability. Cheaper lights, in my experience (this goes for both freshwater lights and grow lights as well), tend to cheap out on certain components. Usually it's the inline controllers that go first, leaving a perfectly good LED fixture unable to turn on. When that happens, I usually just cut the controller out, grab some wire nuts and electrical tape and plug it into a smart outlet.

DAILY QUESTION: What’s the most vibrant coral you’ve ever seen, and what kind of lighting was it under?

Reefs I've snorkeled off Cozumel and Bonaire were super colorful, there were under the sun. Other than that, so many at frag fests... never really pay attention to the lights, but at the most recent event I attended I noticed a lot of AI Blades.

Does the moment when I finally got coralline growing on my dry rock count? For me, it was exciting! Most of my frags are too new to show much growth or be a true success story.

DAILY QUESTION: What’s the best coral growth success story you’ve had?

For my best success story I am going to pick my hammer coral. It was one of the first lps I got. It started as 2 heads and now it's almost 12(some are still pinching). I've had the tank since December 2023.

Currently running a 5g nano at work with rubble and frags as well as a 13g nano at home stocked full of fish... waiting for better lighting to add some corals frags.
