DAILY QUESTION: Do you currently use supplemental lighting, and if so, what’s your setup?

100%! 2 xr15 g3 as main. I custom built the bracket out of aluminum angle and flat stock. Front and back there are arms that extend to hold a light bar close to the edge of the tank, kicked at a 20 degree angle to try and get a little better coverage where stuff is starting to self-shade. I have an AI blade on the front now. Would love to move the blade to the back and add a OR4 Blue Plus on the front! Used to have a current orbit bar front and back, until the remote crooked and they lost time.

I was, but the light was such a pain to move everytime I wanted to take the top off and it wasn't powerful enough to suspend so it went bye bye. That said, I liked the lack of shadows

I would say it is the additional features/programs that comes with the lighting. For example, the lunar/moon cycle and the acclimation program.

My best story would be when I almost killed my very first torch by causing stress due to over dipping. After a week, it survived and is now growing large and nicely.

I've realized it has been important to having dimming capabilities because there are times when it is lights out, I would need a little light to continue finish doing maintenance on the tank. It also helps to adjust new fishes and corals to a lower light intensity.
