Did everything survive ok while you were gone?
Yeah, it all looks well actually. There is a quite a bit of algae in the tank right now, which doesn’t surprise me. But the corals and fish look happy!
I haven’t actually touched it yet except to feed since I got back Friday night. I’m on my way back from the LFS, right now so I’ll take some before and after shots when I do maintenance today.
Lots of algae though, so brace yourself!
Okie dokie. Did my water change and basic maintenance like skimmer, glass cleaning and swapping filter pads.
Later this week we will finish it off by doing an overnight vinegar bath for the pumps and swapping the carbon.
This is how bad she looked before I got to business today.

And here is how bad it still looks after.
I’ve actually got quite a bit of detritus hiding in a couple spots so I’ll address that when I pull the pumps, likely with a mini water change.

One thing I would like to point out is this little pink acro. It seems to like the system.
Here is a picture of it from 4/30 (it was under bluer lighting in that picture)

And here are 2 pictures of it from today after the water change.![]()

I suppose that it’s.
Happy reefing, all!
Nice! Good to see some growth on that acro! Tank is looking much cleaner after that maintenance day.
What's your next plan for fish/coral additions?
I like the monti and stylo idea, that's gunna look great!
Since you mentioned blennies, the gold mids blend is one I like! I had a tail spot lenny I loved to
I Used to have a tailspot as well, he was a very fun fish. I’ve found in general that most blennies have immense amounts of character.
A Midas blenny is also definitely on the list for consideration. My girlfriend is fascinated with anything that is slightly poisonous.
I’d really like to put some euphyllia in here, but I don’t think there are any good spots for one, and I don’t want to turn down the flow, or rearrange pumps.
Rufus and I went out for a drive into the Mt. baker-Snoqualmie national forest earlier. We were checking out the campground where my girlfriend and I are going camping for our 5 year anniversary.

Don’t worry, she doesn’t look at this, I’m safe.
When we got home this was what I saw first. It made my heart jump for the umpteenth time today.

It may seem sappy, but I’m very grateful for what I have.
I hope you all are as happy as I am right now.
Happy reefing!
Congrats dude! Thats big. She will love it.
Thanks so much!
I’m very excited. And nervous. And excited.
If she says no, I’ll just tell the other Dufus to play dead.
That should get her, right?

Haha i'm sure it will! Gorgeous dog! I have a German Shorthaired Pointer myself!
Awesome news! Good luck.
Thank you. I’m very nervous, haha.Awesome news! Good luck.
I love pointers!
Our second service animal and my first personal training challenge was a GSP.
She was an awesome dog. We got her when she was 5 from the pound. She had the biggest most obnoxiously placed liver spots. I loved the snot out of that dog.
Got any pictures of your puppy? I’m a real sucker for dogs.
