I know i been looking at them and people are selling frags of them around 100 bucks. Coral.com has a 2 head rasta for 224.99
As you increase heads, the price per head lowers compared to individual frags/heads. There is a “deal” in buying colonies. You pay more obviously due to the size, but you are saving the seller a lot of work because they don’t have to take the time to frag it up, or the risk of random losses from fragging, and they save the time of finding 5-10 individual customers, having to arrange pickup or packing /shipping of 5-10 boxes etc

I agree 100 per head is common going rate for singles. For a colony that size I would expect 50+ per head and call it a day. If you can get more…power to you and congrats!

If I were you I would look it over to see if there is a easy branch to frag to get 1-3 heads, frag it off and keep it, and sell the rest as a colony for 350. If I couldn’t keep a few for myself, I’d ask 400 comfortably. Or ask 450 obo and be willing to negotiate down to 400 if needed

8 heads, frag 2 to keep, 6 head colony for sale. 6 x 75 = 450 asking price
Buyers like to “feel like” they are getting deals. So be willing to flex a little, accept 400$

In the end, 400$ + keep 2 heads. I’d be happy with that

I can't frag that's the bad thing I have no equipment to do so. This was just something to look at now I got to the point where I want another tank to sell coral out of haha

What if I asked $650 for both the Torches?
You could ask but imo it’s steep. Let’s say
400ish for the big colony and 100ish for the 2 head would be min I would try for.
Maybe ask 600, be prepared to come down to 500, and anything in between accept and call it a day

Or. Since you’re good at growing corals, maybe you can find someone willing to trade for something real high end, that you can grow out and sell for some big bucks

Example.
Banana holy grail and Holy Grail torch typically are $400 a head, if they are good ones.

If you could find someone willing to trade a head of something high end for your colony, it would be an investment that would pay out big in 12-18 months…

Started with one head banana holy grail

In 1 year it was 4 head

And by 1.5 years it’s 8+ Heads

Holy grail is also another high value item, I got this one as a splitting head and in a few weeks (after this photo) it’s become two head. This particular one is $500 per head from the vendor and on private market they go for approx 400 a head

I'd be scared to trade with someone. I'd be afraid of not getting something back and losing what I got

I hear ya. Maybe find someone local online through the forum.

Or just sell local, to LFS, or in for sale section of the forum. Pay first then ship or pay in person and bag it up when they show up

I’m in tennessee, I would trade if my new build was ready, but it’s not, and my current tank is sort of packed

My local fish store would take them but they only do store credit they don't give cash. I figured they would move fast I'm trying to make some money to buy frags and start doing frag swaps or just sell online.
