Laguna Beach and La Jolla Cove. Both are great locations!

Exploring the tide pools in southern California was to this day one of the best trips I've been on. Even the algae was pretty, like the branching coralline you can see in the pic before the sunset pic. thanks for sharing, brings me back

Cool! Hope it was an enjoyable trip. Seems like you missed the good ol' octopodes, horned sharks, and sea hares. But the anemones are really stunners in the right lighting. Next time I guess...

I will say SoCal tide pools have really declined in the past 15 years. There used to be sea hares everywhere, loads of urchins and sea stars, octopodes on every other trip, sand crabs on nearly every beach, etc. Now you will be lucky to see half of those.

I can't get over having a seal in my tank. Big ole lazy water dogs. I miss Cali and warmth. Hope you enjoyed it.

Just make sure it's a reef safe sea lion!! Although it would probably take a nap on your frags in either case

If you’re asking me, yes I am. We’ve got some ok snorkeling places here. Lots of corals and reef fish. Although not as beautiful as Indo, Philippines, etc.

That would be fun! I've thought about it, but livestock for temperate tanks seems harder to come by.
