Someone shows you the pic above of their apex readings, How do you respond? Not giving any background is intentional. Just curious of what everyone's first impressions are. Will give the full story later.

My guess:

This is an apex EL, and they are reading salinity from a PM2 module, but do not have the temperature probe plugged into the PM2 module. (They have Tmp probe plugged into head unit)

Reasoning:
  • Correlation of salinity to tank temperature indicates no temperature compensation is active.
  • TMPX3 of 22.9 indicates no temperature probe connected to their PM2 module.
  • CONDX3 indicates conductivity is on a PM2 module, not head unit.
  • TMP is standard format of the head unit temperature probe.

Solution:
Move temperature probe to PM2 module, and enable temperature compensation.

I agree about the temperature probe, but this is most likely a full Apex because it has ORP. Very few people would have the Apex-EL and also buy the PM1 and ORP probe.

That’s true, and the standard name “ORP” would be on the head unit unless they changed it.

Just odd to have a PM2 then, unless it’s for a different tank.

I agree with both. Can't be a EL version with ORP reporting.

Temp probe is not in the head and the window should be stored, if not used.

Salinity well that's par for the Apex salinity probes.

Obviously being used only as a monitor and not controlling anything with 0 power usage.
I find that strange though as the EB832 has a fan that will draw a few watts on channel 8.

Just don't understand the point of secrecy.
I guess we will see.
Maybe the OP wants to see who know the Apex and only ask them questions. Muahahaha

The AMP_4 is most likely from an older EnergyBar since that’s the naming convention for an Amp input including the module number. EB832 amp inputs are named EB832_#A where # is the output number.

Ahh I see.
My experience with Apex only goes back two years and I have no experience with the old version of the energy bar. So clearly if the OP is looking for experienced answers I am not the guy LoL :(

Ha! My experience with Apex only goes back 2.5 years, but I published my Apex Programming Tutorial series after 1.5 years. I guess I'm just a little more obsessive about it than most people, as indicated in my profile description.

So a bit of answers. I bought a gold bar system used. Came with orp and temp probes. but no instructions. I struggled thoroughly getting everything set up. Had to add on salinity probe with PM2 module . I set this system up on my tank about 6 months ago. I got it up and running and that was it. I was so frustrated with resetting everything and then it wouldn't see the e8, I left it alone. System is a listed below.

One, you guys let me know that I had it set up incorrectly, which I have changed, but there was a comment about enabling temperature compensation which I will look up. @SuncrestReef I'm diving into your tutorial tonight. Thanks for the help. I'm diving in to see what I can do with it :)

Thanks again.
