Random gripe...

You can't get quality products anymore - it's about impossible thanks the the wallmart factor and other things...

My "operating table" that I'm trying to get set up for Sunday's arrival is supposed to be a stainless steel prep station with wheels, etc. It was delivered on 9/11/2024...

Does this LOOK stainless to you????

And no I am not an a member of "Coral Addicts Anonymous"

I am not about to use a new, unopened pump to acclimate my new arrivals...

It must be the time of year. I've spent a lot in the last 6 months, but not so much as THIS month. I'm probably in the 1000-2000 range, too! And this is AFTER saying we were stocked and ready- no more buying.
Eh I’m filling up a relatively new tank. So a nice order for battle corals and some pretty nice torches. Oh plus some fish from Dr reef so let’s make it higher haha.

So 3 calls to ups… and a very loud statement at them that I would be calling the police to file a report…cause someone clearly stole 1k + in live stock… and magically 5 hours later - sigh and i have to take the kids to the dentist not enough time to do this right grrrr…. Oh well commence the drip.

I think they sent me over three gallons of water…

Wow, you got a SOLE for acclimation!? That's pretty baller
Sigh... truth be told... i have a sole for well... everything: 2 for esv, 1 for plankton, 2 for AWC, 1 for mag, 1 for esv trace, 1 for nitrate. Iodine and Phosphate I still hand dose...3 ports on the X10 are tied up with running the IV... got another x10 but it's supposed to be running the plankton farm, and one is shutting water off to my "waiting room"

Plus, the one that I had not opened yet till today... so eh I'll find something to do with it... after I tame the flurken (I don't know how else to describe the chaos that is my current hydros collective set... it probably doesn't help that I have sensors for everything temp in 3 places, ph in 2 (not counting the IV), 5 flow meters etc...)

I'll get it all organized once I make the cutover to the new sump - just stalling cause I have to shut down all the filtration and all and do it all in one giant go... bleh need a good day to do that.

Well, I can certainly relate :) Not to the enormous Hydros collective, of course--I only have a Minnow and a bunch of sense devices--but needing a whole day to do things. My July-Aug tank transfer upgrade is extending into November. All my little projects for the tank keep sitting there half-done or waiting for a good block of time to do them. And I gotta get moving, because I have fish going into QT for the new tank!!

That sounds so familiar. Our may build bumped up against Fall. I finally said to hubby that we had to get the tank inside and set up before cold arrived- remember I need to cycle it before we can put all our stuff in! Now there's a half build sump. There's a half replaced light fixture. The base got one coat of paint. The aquascape is more ab abstract concept in my brain while the rock it's in 5 gallon buckets.

I'm not sure WHAT it looks like. Doesn't much look like a table, to start with ...

That reminds me. I need to email Ben. For the first time ever, my corals were filthy! I spent FOUR HOURS cleaning and dipping 12 corals from TG. I score a bitty brittle star out of the deal, my 2nd from them, 3rd over the summer. Vermetid snails, worm poo, worms, frags coming apart (basically for 2 for 1 on a couple zoa frags). VERY unlike them. I wonder what happened.

The green house has been a struggle for them lately with the heat and all - there are always some hitchhiker or another along, hard not to be - as to the vermetid snails… i think i have 3 i can see in my tank right now… will have to go squish them with the forceps this weekend…
