Good work. Really starting to seem like Fritz is the best option so far of what has been tested.

Oh Fritz why are you so hard to obtain.....lol

Thanks for all of your hard work! Following

I wonder how much of Fritz working so well is due to the bacteria it contains, and how much is due to the fact that it was refrigerated in transit and on arrival (since Dr. Tim's has the same bacteria, if I recall correctly).

I ended up buying Fritz based on your last results, and it has worked at keeping ammonia in my QT at zero beautifully. I even had a bacterial bloom for a day (probably due to overfeeding), which then resolved.

this is my question as well. amazon sells fritz but i'm not sure if it comes refrigerated. the LFS near me that stocks it definitely doesn't keep it refrigerated

According to Mike at Fritz TURBO START is kept refrigerated at wholesalers and also at retailers and along the way in transport as well.
I visited 2 stores near by my city that carry Fritz and both had them in fridge. Both retailers told me it comes cold on truck and they keep it cold.

There are 2 types of products Fritz make.
1 is refrigerated (turbo start 900)
2nd non refrigerated zyme #9

Turbo Start is more stronger as it has lot more bacteria in it while zyme is same thing just less concentrated.

Hi @Dr. Reef, thanks for your effort and dedication.
As someone mentioned in the past, could it be the lack of phosphorus sources the reason for the stalled results you are getting?
As bacteria also need it for growth and reproduction . Just a thought .
Maybe be you can also test this theory before breaking down the test tanks.
Thanks.

I will check for phosphate and add some if none exist but my question is why does Fritz keep working with or without phosphate.
If phosphate theory was correct then NONE of the bacteria should work.
All tanks are setup exactly the same with exact amount of water sand and media.

Wonder if Fritz has a msrp on their Turbo Start, I'm handicapped at the $45 the LFS is charging for the 8oz bottle!

I think it would of be a more accurate test if you used fish.

I have a study lined up just for that. (without fish) but to add ammonia constantly throughout the day just like a fish would do.
Here is the link to it.
https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/bacteria-in-bottle-busting-myth-seneye-style.456820/

If i was to do this study that i just concluded 2 ppm ammonia would have already killed fish within first hour.
This is why i am going to the Seneye style study where there is constant ammonia on hourly basis as if the fish was to and monitor slightest chances in ammonia.
Seneye is a real time live ammonia monitor and i am excited to see the results of that study as well.

4 days later after dosing bacteria,
I have not seen any reduction on Seed, Prodibio nor Dr Tim.
I am going to double dose Dr Tim as i dont have any extra prodibio. Seed is already been dosed daily.

Because the tests have been still showing 2 ppm on 3 products i havent tested them daily, I am checking every other day, so tomorrow i will have a test result about this time.

An update and good news is that Bio Spira is on its way to me while Microbe Lift Nite out 2 has already arrived.

Microbe Lift sent me 2 x 16 oz bottles of nite out 2 and 2 bottles of special blend. I am not aware of this product (special blend) will have to do some research to see what its about. I am very grateful to them for sending in their product for testing. Thank you Microbe lift.

bottle bac is real, does speed cycle compared to none added, it's factual. It's very simple to keep all aquatic strains of bacteria alive in bottles, some shelf lives have a two year expiry

If the experiment is ran against ammonia digestion from a hydrated but non bottle inoculated tank, the strains that are nitrifiers will show quicker and stronger ammonia digestion after two weeks than the undosed tank. There are massive university level genetic studies that have been ran on bottle bac brands to literally measure what's in there, reef builders had a nice one online. Can't wait to see how this test aligns with prior ones

Some bottle bac are not meant for cycling, they're for detritus digestion. In that case, a typical home has no way to measure presence or not, only the cycling ones we can test via ammonia digestion after predicted timeframes. Is microbe lift used for cycling or for waste reduction/increasing diversity?
To be added with water change I presume?

Curious if Nite-Out really works in fresh or salt. Since nitrifying bacteria species aren't tolerate of both I wonder how they package it.

I was under the same impression but in the first few pages where @mikeyn from fritz started commenting, he mentioned that these bacteria are tolerable. He said something along the lines that they use saltwater bacteria in freshwater aqua cultures. let me see if i can find it.
