So I have some weird I'm guessing bacteria or funky white algae growing in my tank and mixing station. Anyone have any idea what this is, where it came from and how to get rid of it.

When I pull on it it's slimy can be pulled apart. I can blow it off the rocks with a jet of water. It disconnects and floats freely, and ends up plugging my filters up.

It is in the mixing station, growing on the hoses heater and cables. Long strings of it.

Using IO reef crystals, in a 44 gallon brute trashcan.

In the tank, parameters are
Salinity 1.025
PH 8.1
Ammonia 0
Nitirite 0
Nitrate is around 10-15 ish
Phosphate is .1-.2
Cal 400
Mag 1350
Alk 8.2

So nothing way off, guessing it came from mixing station into tank with water changes.

Found it this morning when my display tank overflowed when the prefilter mat I had in the overflow plugged up and my entire sump was pumped up and then the ato kicked on and added more. Was nice to wake up to wet floors.

Air bubbles are trapped in it from return pump blowing air all morning before I woke up.

Need to get apex programmed the rest of the way ugh.

Aerow,
Just tossing it out there...

Do you use any aerosol products or diffusers that could be airborne / and could of made it's way into your Brute mixing station, and or your display's water?

Yeah maybe, we occasionally spray for flies, I can thrown some Carbon in a reactor on it if it would help. Or is this just a wait it out and dilute it away thing with water changes after cleaning mixing barrel?

I'm not 100% for sure if it's your issue, but aerosol's do fuel up bacteria, big time.
Also there maybe pesticides involved because you spray for flies. Carbon might capture those.

Years ago aerosol from carpet cleaner made it's way in my reef, and it was sure a learning experience that I'll never repeat.

Aerow,
Thanks for being honest. It's a tough call.

To rule it out, you could dump the entire mixing station's water and start off fresh.
Then your going to have to make sure that not outside contaminants will get back in.

I do not promise anything, but it will let you cross one factor off your list.

Well it cured itself over the last few days, had my dual canister reactor going the whole time, just swapped out the carbon. All strings are gone, Mixing can is cleaned out and hopefully it will stay out. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
