I’ve run rowaphos in reactor to remove phosphate btw. And here is a full setup pic.
Does the tank get any direct/ indirect sunlight?
Any tap water used for any purposes?

You may need to pull the rock and scrub with a firm toothbrush and some 3% hydrogen peroxide.
Return to tank, reduce white light intensity and number of hours of white lighting and add some snails such as :
Astrea
cerith
turbo grazer
trochus

A Pencil urchin

8-10 Caribbean blue leg hermits

It’s in the corner of a big open living room and kitchen, they are plenty of windows so the room is bright during the day but the tank is located in a corner next to a window that is always closed with blackout curtains. Sometimes there is a crack of light going on the tank but only like 1” on the right side. Last week I purchased magnets and set them up to keep the curtain nice and tight for no direct sunlight at all.

It’s a 55gallon, I have 3 turbo include a massive one, 3 trochus, 2 emerald crab, and about 10 hermit crabs, 2 nassarrius and 1 sand star

I have a blue tang and a 2 spot bristle tooth as well as an algae blenny and recently got a diamond goby that hasn’t been seen since last week when adding him. Also have 2 clown and a six line

Do you still think it’s algae and not bacterial? How do you tell the difference? Last algae bloom I had my nitrates cratered very quickly from 40 to 0 this time I’m still reading some despite being at 10 last week

Algae will be hazy and green whereas Bacterial will be milky

I’ll get a cup of water and see what color it turns out to be in the morning. I think it mostly looks green now because of the rocks and back glass being covered

microscope it. and put the skimmer cup back on if you havnt. i would keep glass clean, manually remove some of the algae and try to keep nutrients from zero'ing due to dino, but not so high it promotes algae. keep white lights to no more than 6 hours, and reduced to a low intensity. in trying to avoid dino, my guess is you created an algae problem. which isnt too uncommon. your just going through the growing pains of ugly tank phase. the good news is if you dont give up, in a few months from now you will have a nice clean tank. trust me i battled dino for 5 months. i wanted to pull my hair out.

So definitely an algae bloom in there, can’t really see anything in the tank, cut the lights off yesterday and have been doing a 24h complete blackout but not looking better today. Changing socks daily, came home tonight to my seachem badge being green in the alert zone, and I can’t see ANY of my fish. I only fed once tonight and haven’t seen any movement. I just dosed some prime in there. I’m not sure what to do…. Please help lol

Tank looks green, or white?

I cannot really see why prazipro would drive a green algae bloom, as opposed to a white bacteria bloom.

Maybe it is unrelated to the prazi.

Tank is green, water has a greenish tint when in a clear cup. I’ve also ramped up my dose of waste away recently to the max over 3 weeks ( week 1: 1/4 dose; week 2: 1/2 dose; week 3: full dose)

Got my hand on a 5w submersible uv I know it’s not much but it’s all I could order for overnight delivery and for only 30$.

I kept the tank fully blacked out yesterday, still having a bit of ammonia and nitrite so I’m dosing prime. About to do a water change and will dose mb7 right after. Not sure if there is anything else I should be doing.. running some light today, 70% blue a bit of purple, no white and only for a few hours today for the coral and might do an other blackout while the uv tries to clear up a bit

No change today despite 30% water change. I wonder if it’s a phyto bloom. Not sure how I can tell and if it matters, I do dose 1.5oz of live phyto every 2-3 days but I’ve been doing that for a couple months without issues until now, idk what to do, I’m scared of corals dying with too little light, or fish due to ammonia that I’m not sure where it’s coming from, but too much light and I feel like I’m gonna make it worse.. I’ve got a 24w green machine killer coming in a couple days, in the meantime I’ve been running the 5w uv, added filter floss at two locations in my sump and running skimmer a bit wet. About to test but phos was 0.07 and nitrate 3 as of yesterday
