EDIT: No matter what brand you choose...I would get one with a DC pump. A gate valve to help control the output would be helpful as well.
reef octupus is really good. I know people had issues with red sea, with overflowing and to dial in. eshops mot sure. I have a maxspect duo skimmer in mine. Its a beast.
Ive had Reef Octops and Red Sea and I LOVED the Red Sea, im so bummed it doesnt fit my new tank and sump. That thing started skimming the second I turned it on and ran like a champ and was super quiet.
You'll never hear my octo elite 150. I constantly check to make sure its on. It is. And the 150 is a decent size that fits in a lot of sump setups. I have the 750 xxl and the standard sump. No issues at all with in fitting in the sump. Great footprint. The controller is also 1-10v controllable. I love the level sensor as well. Avoids messy spills.
