My Tank Thread
I'm looking for ideas on a small12 v backup water pump. In this case, it would just be used to circulate water through an extended sump system to keep it from getting anoxic during a power failure. Not much head (maybe 2 feet vertical) and maybe 8 feet of tubing.
It would not be for tank circulation, which has powerheads on a backup battery, and is not to replace the main return pump, which likely would not be automatically backed up, but if needed, I would hook it up.
The sump is an extended system of multiple Brute cans, and the pump is just need to take water from the last one and pump it to the first one.
I'm also unsure if I would just run it 24/7 off the battery and trickle charger (needs to be low wattage then) or if it is just something I either hook up myself during an extended power outage, or get a switching power supply for it.
I see a bunch of pumps that might be suitable, but am looking for any input.
TIA.
