Does anyone else’s canary blenny sleep vertically in the corner? He’s there every night just stuck to the silicone. Plenty of hiding spots he uses during the day. It’s crazy

I don't have a canary blenny (beautiful fish BTW) but my yellow clown goby will sleep in the corner like that or on top of a rock, in the open. He conceals himself more during the day than at night but he probably knows by now that there is no one in the tank to hurt him. :) Fish are weird. :)

This is the same with my Black Clown Goby, my blenny however just hides in the rock (Escenius lineatus).

while I don’t own a canary blenny, I have taken care of them in an LFS before. They normally slept out in the open much more often when they were used to the tank.

Hilarious! Just got a canary yellow blenny 2 days ago and thought he was dead multiple times. 2 times he has been nested or floating toward top corner. And when i go to see whats up he darts off and is fine the rest of the day!

Crazy cool character they are.

All meiacanthus sp. do this. Very annoying when trying to catch 100 of them.. they stick to the corners so well.

Mine did that every night as well. Funny to see. It unfortunately decided to go surfing. Somehow got through 1/4" mesh lid and laid there baking under the Radions until discovered at feeding time. Was but a Friday fish chip. :) R.I.P.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Currently have a glass top so hopefully the 1/8" gap is too small!

Thanks. It wasn't a small specimen either. I couldn't believe it got through. A solid top with an 1/8" should be ok but they always somehow find the flaw!
