Got these MP40 covers at RAP Orlando and finally got around to installing them. WOW what a difference they have made! The flow is wider and they still move a lot of water in my tank. I can't believe how much water movement they create (simply judging by food and polyp movement) but yet doest seem as direct/aggressive from when I had the original covers on. I would highly recommend these!

And a quick top down shot using the phone, I'll try taking better pictures soon... I hope.

Quick progress shot of about 1mo difference on my BC bubblebath unicorn. The dates are backwards, so the picture on the right is from 4/21 and the picture on the left is from 5/25.

I had a huge nutrient spike where my N03 was up to 50 and my P04 was upwards of .3 or so if I remember correctly. Weird thing was that I haven't had an algae outbreak just daily dirty glass. Recently added an algae scrubber since the skimmer didnt seem to be keeping up. I ended up just pulling the skimmer all together just due to space for the scrubber. Here is the growth after about 2 weeks.

20240626_203147.jpg

Since adding the scrubber the nutrients have dropped significantly to N03 being 23.5 and P04 being 0.14 a little weird to me that they dropped that fast. Not really sure what happened to be honest but at least the corals still look ok. They definitely didn't like it because the ALK consumption dropped and my ALK level went up a little but thankfully I caught it before it got too bad.

Here is the first harvest from the algae scrubber. Looking promising so far and noticing the nutrients dropping a little.

Well, this is a ****** update. In the past 3 days I've had 2 corals RTN. I HOPE it stops there but know mu luck there are more to come. Honestly don't even know what caused this to even happen. Everything has been stable and my nutrients are slowly coming down to normal levels.

Well, bad news is that the ASD rainbow millie didn't make it.

Good news is that the pearlberry did and nothing else seems to have been affected. Couldn't really pinpoint anything to the case but I THINK I may have bumped one of the returns during maintenance and caused strong enough flow to bounce off the glass and into those 2 corals. Not 100% sure but that's the only think I could find that was off besides what I mentioned in the other post.

Parameters seem to have stabled off again and growth seems to have increased again. Will try ans take out the dslr again and try and get better pictures more often.

Love getting coral packages especially when it means I have finally gotten my hands on an OG again!

20241025_115542.jpg

I have a tort about to touch the green slimer. Might have to make my first frags soon, or just let the corals figure it out.

Friendly reminder to whoever reads this, remember to check your dosing containers. I forgot to check/refill my AFR and my liquid nitrate. Corals suffered a bit and I made my nutrients unbalanced and am now battling a little bit of cyano. Overall everything is ok thankfully. Not sure how long I was empty, not trying to think about it lol. I'm just very grateful things didn't turn out worse.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Little photo dump of some random things. You'll notice that there are some pieces taking their sweet time to grow.

I think it's vivid confetti, would have to double check

I don't know why it took me so long to realize it but I didn't really have a good pod population in this tank. So I found someone on etsy of all places that was selling a bottle of various pods for a pretty fair price. Went from basically 0 noticeable pods to now my glass seems to have a fair amount. Hope this allows me to add one of my favorite fish in the future.

At what point do I say F Ph and just stop looking at it..... I noticed my nightly ph was dropping to 7.6 which I found very odd and daily barely hitting over 8. Today I said it was just time to run a calibration again, now I'm reading 7.75.... I verified that it read the 7 and 10 solution correct after the calibration and it did. My setup includes an algae scrubber on reverse light schedule, and air coming from outside going through a C02 scrubber. I've increased and decreased surface agitation with seeming little to no affect on ph. The probe is BRS double junction, that i believe is a little over a year old now.

My tank has always read low ph but honestly at this point I don't even know ow if I was ever truly low or I've just been chasing it for no reason.

Sorry for the little rant, I'm done now lol.
