I absolutely do have grounds, the burden of proof is on you my friend. You've made a claim so should provide evidence to support it. I'm merely saying your wrong. I also would be skeptical about any UV unit out there w/out specifying UV bulb and recommended flow rate specs. But if it says UVC then it should have a UV-C bulb in it.

Whatever bulb is in there UV sterilizers are NOT affective against parasites like ich, velvet or anything else in a closed tank. First most of the flow rates given are for algae control. If my memory is correct to kill ich, velvet flow rate is one third or less than for algae and even then it is only affective against whatever flows through it. There will be lots that will not flow through the UV before re infecting fish and continue the cycle.
