Hey Guys! Noob to R2R here and just wanted to share a video and photos of my first attempt at a reef tank that just turned 1 year old. It's a 40 breeder reef, peninsula style, and bare bottom. Here's a list of the equipment that run my tank!

What a year it has been, the learning curve was definitely steep and it was a great journey! Now to watch the corals grow out and fill this tank! I will end this with a FTS from a side panel. If anyone wants pictures of the entire setup, sump, or anything in general; I'll be happy to do so!

Thanks! I love peninsula tanks because you can place a lot more corals on either side of the rock work.

The gyre does have somewhat of a dead spot directly in the middle of the tank but I'm counteracting that by having the return outlet directed in the area that needs the flow.

Wow I forgot about this thread!! Thanks for reminding me of what my tank used to look like. Things have really changed since 2016, I’ll update you guys now. Here’s a FTS from December 2018


I built a new trigger “knock off” sump


And got a new little baby convict tang

Alrighty, as requested this is lighting schedule for my photon v2. Lmk if you have questions, apparently its supposed to be similar to the ecotech AB+ schedule but it works for me!

How high off the water line? And did you measure par?
