While I appreciate the effort, the document has errors.

Firstly - Identification visually, as to which specimens have the toxin and which don't is not reasonably possible and in-fact a DNA test is required.

The FAQ section has the logic reversed and is contradictory for many of the "TRUE" or "FALSE" facts

IMHO this document creates as much danger as it prevents. Sorry to be that guy, but it needs a good bit of work and clarification.

Hello! No worries, we are all entitled to our opinion and I appreciate you taking the time to read the article. I agree that you can’t visually identify which palys have the toxin (as stated in the article) and since most of us don’t have access to DNA testing, I broken out categories to help people identify possible corals. I am quite happy with the FAQs section and I think it is clear throughout the article the danger of this toxin. I hope the article helps people be informed and feel confident working in their tanks. Happy Reefing!

Please see your myths section.

I think the word “Truth” is meant to convey “the statement above is a myth, the statement that follows is the truth. In that context, it makes s sense.

Unfortunately, people will read the statement as “False or True” and then see the word TRUE. It is counter intuitive to the typical TRUE or BUSTED format that most people are accustomed to. Format or wording adjustment would help clarity.

I am hesitant to be so picky, but as I stated the article feels a bit lacking in clarity for such a serious subject.

I hesitated to post at all, but the ambiguity in the article promoted me to take a look at your posts, other articles and site. You have cranked out and posted a pile of these quick articles very recently and launched a podcast. Forgive me if I am wholly off base, but it feels like this is more aimed at coordinated SEO, backlinks and interest generator for you endeavor than anything else.
I appreciate the feedback and I will take a look at the myths section again. To be honest, I wrote the article to the best of my ability. I am sorry that you find it lacking. I am writing articles about things I wish I would have known when I first started. The articles aren’t perfect but they take me quite a bit of time to write (more than 30 hours a week). Some of the articles (like this one) was posted 5 months ago and I was just sharing it. I am not the best writer but I try to give honest unbiased information that people can read if they would like.

Seriously that's pretty much all you do is find ways to tear posters down. Rinse and repeat.

I read the article and it seems good to me. I understood the myths and FAQ section. I'm not an expert on palytoxin or writing but I found the writing to be informative and to the point.

Honestly I think the hobby would benefit from finding out the true toxicity of some of the strains. If there were some that were not toxic and clearly identifiable I would be happy to keep some in my tank. Otherwise I do not, simply based on the risks.

Taking a quick look at the articles particularly about pests and bristleworms I find they would be a great help to new and experienced hobbiests alike. You have a clear identification guide, when it's beneficial or not, steps to mitigate and even a what to do if stung.

Very cool site and clearly you know your reefing! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for taking the time and making the effort. And don't you dare get defensive about what you're doing. There are many, myself included, that appreciate information gathering and presentation. Could it be better? Sure. Have I seen worse? Oh yeah. But neither question means anything. Because you're not looking to enter a contest, rather, to teach yourself by writing and teach us by posting. Keep up the great work. I look forward to further postings.

Your disdain for me does not justify personal attacks. If you feel that I am violating the TOS, then use the report button.

Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to respond and explain, as well as considering a second look at the formatting of the myths section. Clarity there would, in my opinion, strengthen the overall presentation of information.

As I mentioned, the initial scrutiny was based on my feeling that the danger of palytoxin is one of the most misunderstood topics in the hobby and much of the common advice is based on poor information passed amongst hobbyists. I appreciate the time and effort invested in publishing the article, even if I feel that some of the points could be further emphasized.

Additionally, I have edited my prior response regarding the number of recent articles, as I said my feelings may be in error to begin with — and will simply accept that the overall goal is here is to spread knowledge.
