Okay so I’m pretty sure it’s a copepod but I’d like to know which kind as I’ve never added any to my tank. This is at 100x magnification. Easily seen with naked eye although small.

I grabbed a few last night when I looked in my tank. There were hundreds if not more and they had a somewhat jerky motion to them.

Oh wow! How is that possible!

If that’s true let what it is I have a breeding supply of mysis shrimp in my tank. I seen the same thing a few months ago.

A few hundred mysis shrimp in a 20g AIO with 2 clowns? Seems a bit odd though.

Mysis shrimp.
Hey KJ,

OK so now I realize you are either an extremely well informed hobbyist or perhaps a biologist by trade, and clearly know more than the average bear :)

Anyways, pursuant to this threads critter topic I wonder if what you see above is the same as in this video:

because I remember before I treated my tank for Red Bugs my reef was swarming with the same tiny shrimp, and I have been searching and buying copepods for years to try and get the same population back all to no avail as it appears the varieties sold by Algae Barn are not those shown in the video . . .

so. . .

assuming the video above is showing mysis and what the OP has in his tank is also mysis does that mean if I buy mysis from aquaculturenurseryfarms.com that I can finally re-introduce those "mysis" to my reef?

Thanks for any and all advice on this topic.

P.S. Thanks for the worm as a Cumcumber i.d.
