There’s also this starfish on the bottom of the zoas and some brittle starfish. Are these helpful or harmful?

Brittle stars = good

Asterina/Aquilonastrea stars = you'll get mixed responses. Some varieties eat zoas and other coral but most are algaevores. To be safe, you should probably toss it.
