Can anyone tell me what this is? I can’t recall what they said at the fish store and the receipt doesn’t tell me. IMG_2757.jpeg

12 versus 24 seems a bit too restrictive to me. I have several Alveopora and if I look on a per tentacle basis, there are some that have 14 or 16. With my Goni, some have fewer than 24 and some that have more. The shape of the tentacles is usually more telling to me and of course the skeleton but we don’t want to cut into this beauty to find out!

I am sticking to Alveopora on this one!

From what I understand, goni’s can have 18 to 24 tentacles. We could just lump them all together and call them flowerpots:)!

I was actually reading recently that Alveopora are no longer considered a “flowerpot” and they’ve been reclassified to be in a family that’s closer to acros! Beautiful no matter what!
