So I have a tank with high end lighting on it that all of my coral are in and everyone is doing great. I just got a 29 gallon LED tank kit for an unbelievable price and was going to do this as a fish only tank because I know tank kits usually don't come with strong enough lights to do anything with as far as corals go (or plants for freshwater tanks).
I'm curious though, are there any corals with low enough light requirements that can still be happy, healthy, and thrive in a 29 gallon tank using only the light the came with it? It looks pretty bright and has mostly pure white LEDs with a 4-5 blue LEDs, but I also know that brightness and PAR output are not the same thing and a light can be plenty bright while having pretty minimal PAR ratings.
I know the usual suspects for lower light conditions are things like zoa's, but can those even do alright with a kit light? If they can I would love to know! And of course anything else that might be able to do well with kit lights. Thanks!
