I got a CSB nem 2-3 months ago and it settled into a nice sized hole in a rock. It was filling in the hole nicely, always out when lights were on. Saturday, noticed it wasn't out as far, but it reacted to food. Sunday it was not out at all. I can kind of see in the hole, and could see it was open, just not extending out of the rock. I know they can be weird, so I have just let it be. No parameter swings. I decided to run carbon because that is always suggested. (No other nems, and only softies are zoas.) Today I normally feed it, and when I squirted in some food, saw a bristle worm come out. I suspect the bristle worm recently moved in, and is irritating it. In trying to suck the bristle worm out with a baster, I confirmed the csb's foot is attached to the rock.

With the csb retracted but open, will it eat the bristle worm if it gets ahold of it?

Will the bristle worm eventually kill the csb if it is not caught?

I dont think the csb can move because the bristle worms hole is more to the top. I'm not sure if there is something I can add that would eat the worms but not the csb.

picture is too blue to be able to properly see. as long as your tank is mature enough, and water parameters kept stable- you should be okay. if it needs more light, it will show you by stretching out towards the light whilst keeping its foot anchored to the rock. the bristle worm(s) will irritate it, but it shouldn't be an issue. if so, it'll move somewhere else.

What would be the best way to get it out? I can't get a lot into the hole it's in, and don't want to damage it?

no need to go to that length/extreme. let it do its own thing... if its bothered, it will move. keep things stable.
