ok, so imagine that I have NO CUC!!
my plan is astreas, 1 turbo, nassarius, and definitely 1-2 blue legged hermits, how many should I get for a 10 gal?
If youre talking about a mexican turbo I wouldnt. Those get big. Margarita snails are perfect for that size though!

In my 10 cube I have the following:
5 cerith snails
3 astrea snails
5 of the small nassaris snails
1 trochus snail
1 small zebra turbo (only added him recently since some algae was getting a little bad. He's made a huge difference. I understand that I may need to rehome him eventually)
5 small blue legged hermits
1 small tiger conch.

I didn't add everything at once. I started out with 2 hermits and it grew from there depending on the algae load.

I would, I had one I called bulldozer. She was huge! Good 3 inch shell on her. Great for algae but I had to move her from my 70 gallon to my 125 (when I had the tanks) because she ate all the algae in my 70 in a month!

Margaritas don't live long since they are a temperate species and IME they don't clean any better than astreas.
I think a tectus snail would be good, I've never kept one though.

Alright, I’ll wait for some time for my 20gal to grow some algae, and my move big 3 inch turbo to 20, and along *cough*20astreas*cough*
