I am back...or soon will be. My glasscages tank came today. Super excited. I did brief unboxing video and also a video of the platform I built for a hydraulic lift cart table to move the tank. I did find a small crack in the glass (see pic below) but it is just under the silicone and hidden by the black silicone behind it so not sure how noticeable it will be once the tank is up. Otherwise the tank is beautiful. Glass is great.
The stand is amazing. Very heavy and sturdy. Joe built me the first wood stand with leveling feet he has ever built which is cool. My stand is on their instagram feed. It is a steel platform with leveling feet with a wood stand built on top of it.
I placed an order with drreef for a convict tang and a couple of wrasses. Also a bunch of peppermints since I am overrun with aiptasia. Hopefully I can set the tank up before they come. With so many fish crammed in my garage tanks my nitrates and phosphates have been incredibly high. Softies (as well as aiptasia and bubble algae) love it. SPS do not. I have lost a lot of them.
My plan is to setup the tank in the garage and do all the plumbing there (with more room around the whole tank). Water test it and then take the plumbing apart and move it into the house. Moving the tank around with the platform I built and lift cart was really easy. Moving the tank with 4 guys with suction cups is a lot easier when the aquarium is already level with the stand. I will post a detailed tank and stand video once I get them setup.
