Is there a question?
Yes. I put it in the header but I was asking if the photo I provided looked to be diatoms. I'm new to salt water and have never went through "the ugly stage" I keep reading about. I guess another question would be how to manage this. I've read alot of information on the forums on here to just leave it alone while others suggest water changes ect but my tank is still pretty new so I don't think a water change would be appropriate. Sorry I wasn't clear about the question when creating this thread.

No worries. Yes you have diatoms.

I don’t see a problem with diatoms. They are a type of phytoplankton and will support microbial diversity. Get some pods & snails.

PS: I dose silicates for ornamental & cryptic sponges.
