Does anybody have any experience with the Hydros-Kraken?

I am setting up a new tank and have the Kraken but most of my equipment is not compatible with the force cables. I am using the AI Blade lights, MP40s, and the syncra sicce sdc 7.0 pump. Has anyone else run into this issue? One of the threads I found said that Coralvue put them onto a multipack of like 30 different DC adapters, but I really don't want to go that route, mostly because I don't want to buy the multipack 4 or 5 times just to use a single adapter out of it. If anyone has any experience with this I would love to hear how you tackled this.

I think the multi pack you can use to find out what you need and order more of the ones you need. The most common are the 5.5mm barrel connectors but they come with a 2.1mm and a 2.5mm center hole. I have the Sicce SDC 3.0 and have it powered on the Kraken force port. If I remember correctly the force port connector connected directly to the DC jack on the controller.

Yes, the force port cable with barrel plugs right into the SDC 3.0. Looks like the SDC 7.0 is 24v, so it should work the same OR it may need a 2.5mm center, in which you can get an adapter.

Can anyone actually confirm the sdc works with a adaptor and not a diy project?

I don't think it is an adapter. I think they made a DIY adapter using the correct connector for the Sicce. Mine is a SDC 3.0 and it had the standard barrel type connector.

I’m seeing a bunch of diy on the hydros forums, but I’m surprised there’s not a proper adaptor somewhere. I was really excited for the kraken but it’s like every piece of equipment I already have seems like a headache with it - even though they’re “12v/24v”

I have my AI Blades connected to the Kraken with barrel adapters. If I remember correctly, I had to go from 2.1 to 2.5mm.

Your MP40s should be 32v or somewhere around that. The SDC7 may be a barrel or a M16 connector.

You will see mine on the DIY Hydros forum.

doing a quick search on the internet, looks like the SDC 7 (and 9) will use a connector like the Red Sea ReefRun 5500 and 7000

You will have to DIY that one. That's what I did for my ReefRuns.

I have a SDC 3.0 also. Like @n2585722 said, it will work with the barrel with the Force port cable.

I have one and it's a really cool piece of gear if your equipment can use the connectors. I should have researched more on that. I think I'm about to bail on mine. I just don't have enough stuff that it works with to justify having it take up space. I'm going to just replace it with a nice UPS and maybe get an icecap battery for my gyres.

The SDC I have will only run on 24v when the force port drops to 12v during a power outage the pump will not run at that voltage but neither did my old pump which was an AC pump. The connector that Sicce uses on the larger pumps is an unusual one so that is probably the reason there is no adapter yet. I have 7 force ports used on my Kraken. Three of them power other Hydros controllers. Two are X10's and a wave engine. Two are used to power my 2 MP10's and there is one for my lights and one for the Sicce 3.0. I also have 2 of the drive ports in use. So I have quite a bit powered with it.
