A couple days ago i noticed a couple of my tangs started to get ich. I asked around and some people mentioned using prazi pro in my DT. I was wonder if anyone has done this before and if so what should i expect. I know that the prazi will kill off any bristleworm, snails, and shrimp but will it affect any corals or affect my DT in the future when it comes to adding more inverts and corals. any help/tips would be greatly appreciated Thank you!

Prazi can be safely dosed to the dt, but as you mentioned it will kill resident worms (ornamental or hitchhiker). It shouldn’t affect snails or shrimps. To my knowledge, it breaks down on its own after a few days. Running carbon and doing a water change should be enough to remove it from the system moving forward.

If you suspect ich, there’s no reason to run praziquantel. It’s for fluke treatment and won’t do anything for ich.

Prazipro does not treat ich.

Prazipro does not kill shrimp, crabs, snails, nor bristleworms.

In my experience, Prazipro is completely coral safe; I’ve dosed it many times to my mixed reef.

Prazi is a dewormer for worms, flukes and you want to use coppersafe at treatment level 2.25 in a separate treatment tank for a full 30 days as it addresses both ich and velvet and monitoring level with a Hanna brand copper test kit and adding aeration using an air stone. If you ever have to use prazi, it will indeed kill off bristleworms.

I have a 40g breeder that all my fish go into after a medicated QT so I can treat them with Prazi for flukes and internal parasites. It has lots of snails and soft coral in it and no issues. It is getting dosed Prazi almost weekly as well so no issue with repeated usage of it. As others said though it is not for Ich.

If you can post video/pics of the fish under white lights, we might be able to diagnose this for you.

Prazipro can be dosed with invertebrates, you just need to get the tank volume right and add extra aeration (via an air stone). As others said though - it will not do anything against marine ich.
