Ok, I got the Hydros wall installed and got the controllers temporarily hanging. I didn't have time to redo the wiring yet so hopefully tomorrow afternoon I can get in there and rewire and finish cleaning everything up and THEN I'll take another picture. I'd take one now but I don't want Jojo's eyeball to twitch anymore than it already is.
Let me know if you figure out haw to set them up on a feed schedule please.

I was messing with the Minnow the other day and it doesn't look like it can run forward and backward both... You have to set the speed and set the direction. I'm going to try messing with it some more once I have everything else setup and see if I can figure that part out a little better.

You can do it manually in the settings by just changing the speed/direction for a manual dose but it doesn't seem like there's an option for automating that part.

I filled my filter cups with the Sera wool balls and it makes a huge difference for particulate clarity

Mine's name is Tara, I always know when she's on vacation because suddenly someone other than Tara is delivering my live FedEx boxes. Oddly, our FedEx delivery driver who is not overnight deliveries is someone else entirely, and he's the one who likes to toss them into the woods
Do you mean the Sera Crystal Clear (the green washable filter balls) media? If so it is all I use in the filter cups on small tanks. I use Sera's filter wool in my lagoon as it cuts easily to fit my media tray but I may switch to the crystal clear balls as they are really good and I can usually rinse them five or six times before they start to breakdown. My LFS is now using them in his filter cups after I told him about them.

I looked at them yesterday and they look good. I think I need to print new cups to use them - I don't think my current filter cups would allow enough flow through and would have more flow over them.

They're a yellowish color soft wool ball. I don't remember them saying Crystal clear? I'd have to verify and get back to you guys.

I think both are listed on Amazon - Crystal Clear and just Sera.

Ok, Hydros controllers are all linked and running. WiFi 4 outlet power strip lost connection and wouldn't reconnect so I unlinked and tried relinking with no luck. I'll deal with it tomorrow I guess.

In the meantime the Gyre is up and running. I have it set to random from 25-60%. So far the flow looks good in the tank.

If you didn't hear, I spent the night last night trying to sleep in a dog bed on the bathroom floor. Our dog started having seizures yesterday. I slept in there to help keep him calm through the night and I got about 2 hours of sleep. We went to the vet today and they drew some blood and urine for tests. They're trying to rule out Valley Fever.

Chances are it's epilepsy related to him being a Spitz (husky-type) breed.

I'm tired and checking out now.

Water is a little cloudy this morning so I'm making some water for a water change. While installing the Hydros stuff yesterday I accidentally turned the Plank on for 10-15 minutes (maybe longer) and dumped a TON of food. Directly on the BTA in the DT. I'm going to change some water and change the carbon since th BTA looks fairly irritated and deflated this morning. Probably constipated...

Fish and corals all look good - no rapid breathing or gasping for air. I needed to bring my nitrates up anyway but not exactly what I had in mind. :grinning-face-with-sweat:

I did the same thing the other day installing the Plank.

Yeah, one of the downsides is unlike traditional auto feeders if it gets manually turned on, you don't see it turning and usually it's not noticable until the tank is cloudy. Traditional feeders get bumped and go around (visibly) one time and shut off.

I'm considering taking the WiFi Hydros strip offline. It hasn't connected in a couple of days. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times.

So my wife asked "What's that noise?" talking about the Gyre that I installed yesterday. It makes quite a loud whine. Did a little research and apparently it was running in reverse? Anyway, switched the "Invert Rotation" switch to On and the whine stopped. Good to know!

So I'm adding a small heater or two to my shopping list - apparently my water change dropped the temperature.

The good news is, with the addition of the XP8 my temperature swings are getting a lot tighter.

1000006314.png

That initial 75° temperature is not right.

Also, I got almost everything I need for alkalinity testing so I'll hopefully have a chance to get that up and running this upcoming weekend.

Tank is still a little cloudy tonight... I must have dumped a decent amount of food the other day. Turned off the Plank for now. I'll give that a couple of days.

Corals and fish all look happy with the exception of the green Rhodactis, the purple Bowerbanki, and the BTAs. Even the sump BTAs look deflated tonight. Several Blastos and Duncan's are pooping so hopefully everything just overate and they'll be happy again soon.

Mixing some more salt for another small water change tonight. I also added a s done air stone to the sump to increase DO.
