Lover of underated corals and anything that looks good under daylight, I scored a Fungia fungites recently at my lfs for $50. These were readily available back in the 2000s, usually brown with a pink mouth and rim. I’ve been on the hunt now that Fiji is open.

It has some beautiful fluorescence around its mouth as well as pink and black striped lips when it’s pursing its lips. Also, while it does look “bony” it’s pretty standard however fungites can puff up a little more at night or when it’s comfortable. It’s very alive haha

Excuse the tang poop corner and my detritus buildup on the cutting board floor

Anybody have any experience with these guys or pictures of other hard to find plates? Sandolithas, tongues etc IMG_9235.jpeg
