Hey,

I have a Red Sea MAX Nano G2 XL, and I would like to be able to use an automatic fish feeder when I travel. I think I sorted out ATO, testing, and dosing, so feeding is the last piece I would like to be able to automate.

The return pump is too strong for feeding, so I need to turn it off when I feed my clowns (a few more fish to come soon). I tried using Eheim autofeeder, and it does not work. At least not with mini pellets because most end up in the overflow filter section in seconds.

The Red Sea MAX Nano G2 XL return pump (Sicce, 1550lph) has no remote or DC control support, so I guess my options are to either use some smart plug that I control over wifi and turn off the pump during feeding time (concerns: what if it does not start again? also use of many different apps for automation) or to replace the return pump.

Which DC/remote controllable return pump would be the best replacement for the stock RS XL return pump? I am not cost-constrained, but I can't get all the available pumps here (Belgrade, Serbia). Additional note: I'll get the VorTech MP10 with a battery backup in the next week or so.

Are there any other better options than the 2 I listed above?

Thanks!

I’ve also been thinking about this. I’ve been looking at the ecotech return pumps that are fully controllable with mobile app.

@*GAREEF* I am looking at the Ecotech Vectra S2, but I don't know if it would fit (see #4). Also, it seems too strong for this aquarium. However, if it fits, that would be the best solution because I could use the battery backup for the return pump instead of the MP10.

Yes too strong but it’s adjustable through the app.
Also trying to figure out if it fits.
I have the XXL g2 nano
