Hey. My fish had signs of pox. They were transported to the QT tank with Copper. After almost 3 weeks, Hepatus is rashed out. Should I start treatment again? I suspect that the dose of copper has decreased, unfortunately I do not have Hanna Cu but I calculated the dose from the equation. If I start treatment again for 30 days, will the fish survive or should I reduce the treatment time? Please help

If copper fell below 2.0, it will have no effectivity but these fish are victims of skin irritations often generating mucus plugs. To assist further , please post pics and even video under white light intensity - no blue for best assessment

If you can't get ahold of a copper test, have you considered hyposalinity instead?
I thought copper would be easier and manage. I had a regular droplet test and a precisely calculated dose of copper.

Will changing tactics to hyposalinity be the right choice? How to do it?

What copper medication are you using?

Here is a post about how to do hyposalinity:

What copper medication are you using?

Here is a post about how to do hyposalinity:
I used Copper chloride dihydrate pure (Cucl2 x 2H2O)
Mol.: 170.48g/mol
I used the right amount to get a dose of 0.25mg/l
We don't have Coppersafe in Poland. I checked with a test of the Polish company that the copper level was good. Today it was clearly lower. But these tests are not very reliable. I thought that if I kept the strict doses, there would be no problems.

Thank you for your time. I've read all your protocols. Do you suggest Hyposality?

Hey. Today Hepatus looks like his skin is coming off these spots. Unfortunately, something bad is happening with Centropygne :(
Should I get rid of copper to start treating hyposalinity?

Ionic copper can be pretty rough on some species of fish. I would shoot for a dose of 0/20 to 0.22 mg/l. Some people go as low as 0.18 in order to minimize the toxic effects on the fish, but that can also let some diseases slip through.

If I were given the option of using either ionic copper, or hyposalinity, I would opt for the hypo.....

Thank you for your help. Do you think it makes sense to switch to hyposalinity now? Is it better to continue copper? Tomorrow it will be 3 weeks in copper. It seems that the level has not dropped below 0.20mg
Hepatus is almost clean

Oh - I didn't realize it had been in copper that long. I would continue that until the symptoms have resolved.

I don't know what happened. The fish have been great so far. Yesterday Hepatus got a rash. After a day, most of the spots disappeared. Could it be Velvet/Brook?

How can I disperse it? I have 11 fish in QT, wouldn't they have spots?
Mucus plugs show up often on hepatus tangs as a reaction to stress. Sometimes the stress is from ich (and those spots look similar). Other times, the cause of the stress isn’t clear.
