so my neighbor is getting rid of his current tank and offered me some stuff he could sell/get rid of,

the corals i know for sure i can take but he’s also got some fish that im worried might be too much, unfortunately our local fish store said they can’t take any fish at the moment so it’s either i try and save them or they get flushed

the fish offered are a azure damsel, firefish, sand sifting goby, and little puffer (im not sure the exact species)

i have two tanks, a 30 and 15

my 30 gallon has an ocellaris clownfish, pinkbar goby, 3 pajama cardinals, firefish, midas blenny, 2 yellow clown gobies, 1 green warpaint goby, and a royal gramma

my 15 gallon has a yasha goby with tiger pistol shrimp and a purple firefish

would there be any space in my tanks for any of the fish (i can’t take the puffer i know.)

If he’s really going to flush live fish, I would grab a petco tank as they have the 50 percent off sale.

Purposely flushing healthy fish makes me mad to think about.

I drove 2 hours to rehome some fish of mine. People should do the right thing and not the bare minimum if they are going to have pets.

I did not know he was gonna flush them! Must have missed that line… That is terrible. Pls get a clearance tank for temporary purposes

could i instead put them in a bucket? i assume i wouldn’t need an actual tank, right? im sure i could find a big bin around my house somewhere?

Big plastic bin is fine

Bucket sounds too small for all of those.

Fritz turbo start or 9 to cycle it quickly or just put some of the cycled rock in there with flow/air stone and a heater.

12 fish in a 30 gallon is way overstocked IMO - I'm surprised it works, but I wonder how much longer it will be peaceful. Your 15 might have room for another one or two fish, but I would take them from your 30 to relieve that tank a little, rather then get new fish.
