I recently took a trip by plane to Houston. While looking around some stores in Houston, the owner at OceanLife Aquariums, told me I could easily fly some pieces back home with me. I was skeptical, but I bought a piece of RR firecracker and decided to give it a try. All I had to do was show TSA the cup and they let me through with it as a carry on. I bought the coral around 2PM flew out 10 PM and placed it in my tank around 11 PM. No styrofoam cooler or anything and it appears to be getting on great! Just wanted to post this to show people that it is easy to fly back with corals if you happen to find a piece you like on a trip.

I flew from Miami to Seattle with a dozen ricordia in 2015. TSA just asked what they were. I showed them on my phone some listings for ricordia and they compared and were satisfied and let me go.

I've never had problems carrying on frags. Lou from tropic marin gave me a box of salt one time. Of course a box with a bag of white powder was flagged and had to be tested, lol.
