I'm not sure if my tank is unique, but I'm proud of what I have done to it. This is my 1st time owning a reef tank and I went the full whole yards setting it up by myself from plumbing it to aquascaping. I don't have many corals now, but my special fish now is the Choati and Blue Star Leopard Wrasses.

My tank is a baby- just a month and a half old. I've struggled with dinos since setting it up (which is why that white filter floss material is on the glass). It hasn't been easy, in fact, I've struggled alot with keeping my corals happy. I finally figured out why, and fixed it, and now corals are recovering which is exciting! I have 7 fish currently (clownfish, 2 bangaiis, royal gramma, firefish, tailspot blenny, exquisite fairy wrasse), and they are all doing well! My tank needs more corals, so winning this would be perfect!

@Usarmy227 come join this! It's the perfect opportunity to get more corals!

I present you. The thunderdome. All enter. None leave for the last year my tank had been struggling as I’ve been learning. First came the diatoms. Then crazy cyano. After chemiclean. Boom. Dino’s. I lost plenty of coral and couldn’t seem to find success. I started to learn proper dosing, I’m stabilizing. (No more fresh water overflow/die offs).

Approximately a week ago, I discovered I was fighting my tank with one hand behind my back. I didn’t have my Di resin set up and my TDS was for a year 160 in the tank!!!!

I’m shifting it now. Upgraded my rodi, seeing coralline finally taking over and seem to be thriving

I currently kept myself sane with my 5 tangs 4 wrasse a blue velvet damsel and 2 clowns; oh and a fox face.

That Choati and Blue Star Leopard Wrasses are absolutely beautiful. That is a super solid first tank! All contestants are going to be thrown in a random generator and will be announced Wednesday the 26th!

Sounds like you’ve been through the wringer, but it’s awesome to see things turning around for you! It’s crazy how much those small things—like the TDS levels—can make such a big difference, right? The shift to your RODI setup sounds like it’s paying off with the coralline taking over. And it’s great that your fish crew is holding strong! Keep at it, you're clearly learning a lot and staying on top of things. Here’s to a thriving tank from here on out!

Thanks! Yeah. I had experienced a chunk of losses on coral… significant and couldn’t really figure out why only to discover newbie me never connected the resin.. my fish though and all the inverts that survived probably have earned the title of ultraaquacultured

This is my college tank I have in my apartment currently.
I love it to death but boy do I have to carve money out to have something like this while in school.
I’ve nursed many of the corals back to health after taking markdowns on damaged pieces and I have a discount at the LFS I worked for.
Keeping it looking nice by making the time to change the water, dose (Part A/B, phyto, amino acids) has helped to feel like I have something to care for and love after a long day.
Cut the glass lid myself to prevent the remaining clownfish from jumping :(

The orange Zoa coming out a bit more as its acclimating. Looks like our last frag is a 2 for 1 with some rhodactis mushroom!
These are going to look awesome in someone's tank! Such a great mix of colors.

This is my first reef tank. It's running on an Oase biomaster 600 canister filter that's pretty much just a media reactor/heater/powerhead at this point(no filter sponges). I also run 2 jecod/jebao powerheads. I have 60 lbs of live rock for my filter :grinning-face:. I know it's not ideal and I'm hoping to upgrade to a sump with all the bells and whistles eventually.
If I had to pick something unique, it would be my "toxic splatter" hammer that extends out like a torch and it's ONE fat head. It's just a big as the hammer next to it that's 12 heads.

Here's my tank! Set up in June last year, so coming up on the one year anniversary, can't believe it's been that long. I've got 8 corals lit under an ai prime 16: blastomussa wellsi, three rhodactis mushrooms, two ricchordea yuma mushrooms, a favia, a goniapora, and a hammer coral (yes I definitely need more corals). I've got two fish, one starry blenny named Benson, and one banggai cardinalfish named Dom. One of the standout features of this tank is the massive colony if feather dusters one the right side of the tank, I could hardly see them without a magnifying glass when they came in as hitchhikers, look at them now! My tank just got over the ugly stage so enjoy this shot that is *mostly clear of gha!
