I would guess that the sales are plagued with dead on arrival claims that are challenging for the platform to handle without losses in time and money to sort out the many claims that arise.Very dumb question but I’ll ask anyway — why is not ok to sell corals on FB/OfferUp/Ebay/etc and yet ok to sell it on our forum? Because Rev is a kind man?
I mean - you can’t tell if I’ve been abusing my corals (ok - sorry, my nitrate is too high and overfed them), smuggled some corals from Indo last night, or trying to scam you by selling WWC/BC/RC-knock off corals?
Sounds like a win win. You get immediate stress reduction and buyer is saved from years of future stressIf for example I put my wife in a box alive but she arrives dead tomorrow at your doorstep who gets the refund?

It’s easier to handle sales of non living items, and more profits without as many complications.

Who pays for her burial cost and disposal fees? Too complicated and emotionally charged compared to shipping a lamp in a box.
More over.
Some people would say sending her alive in the mail is immoral, and not appreciate the business model at all. Not handling these transactions makes sense for their platform.
(No wives were harmed in this post. Historically , when folks have asked how my children are doing I would reply that they are for sale on eBay and I’m really pleased with the bidding thus far.)
I always hope to provide some distraction from the routine days we struggle to survive here on the planet.even when i’m 12000 miles away from home,
i can always count on you for a great laugh!
But plants are still allowed. Last time I checked, they are living things as well. I’ve ordered an extremely rare bonsai tree last week. If DOA, I’ll be contacting the seller, not eBay. To me — this is the same thing as corals. They should ban plants as well then.I would guess that the sales are plagued with dead on arrival claims that are challenging for the platform to handle without losses in time and money to sort out the many claims that arise.

When the term “mail-order bride” first came out, I thought it was exactly as you’ve described!
Oh btw: if shipping of human is legal & safe, my wife & children will volunteer to be shipped — they want to quickly get away from their husband/father!
I believe it’s called a Koji Wada? It’s a bonsai tree per the seller, not a coral! What bonsai did you get?
You and I can make a deal for a couple of bristle worms. Can I sell my wife on here?
Can she sell me? Thanks for making the board a fun and safe place for crazy folks and the rest of you all. It's nice to have a place to hang.

Your competition is reporting you! Haha. It’s why I have more hate towards these company’s. I get that there are crazies out there but with the money they make off their services…. Come on implement something better for reporting with good reason. Not because I feel like reporting to beat out my competition. Some people really irk me more than my maroon clown females! Haha!Whenever I try to sell corals on Offerup, I get my post reported. But at the same time, there are MANY ppl. selling corals on Offerup and they have posts going back for months. I wonder who is reporting me
I would imagine it will be the same on Ebay.
@Thirstysreef would you like to comment? Seeing how this is your livelihood...
Whilst I'm on the other side of the pond to most of you, I have been in touch with eBay this morning and they assured me that there will be no policy change that will affect the sale of marine fish, corals, invertebrates, zooplankton etc.
They assured me that should any policy change happen that each member of eBay would be emailed to be notified of any changes and that I can buy and sell as I have been doing.
Well that really winds me up.......I hate being lied to! Here is part of the transcript from eBay this morning:My wife breeds and sells Berghia on EBay UK. She has been emailed to say that she has 1 month to stop listing as they are banned from sale. Some confusion here with messaging from EBay
It seems they don't know what their own policy is. I doubt they have a clue what Berghia are either.Well that really winds me up.......I hate being lied to! Here is part of the transcript from eBay this morning:![]()
Frustrating to say the least!
