I’ve searched through numerous threads regarding green algae and I’m having difficulties locating an answer in regards to my type of green algae. I’m attaching two pictures that show green growing in my live rock. It’s not fuzzy or hairy. And it does not wipe off. Is this something I should be concerned with? Should I worry about trying to get rid of the green algae?

In the second picture is live rock that looks to have coralline growing on it. The live rock is directly next to the live rock with the green algae.

Thank again for everyone’s input!

Looks good to me.
What doesn’t look good is that SPS on top of the rock.

The LFS gave me that frag about two months ago. It was in poor condition when I received it. It was brown and starting to bleach. I was able to bring it back and the bleaching has disappeared. I’m still having difficulties to get it to turn green. You see some green when the lights are on of course. I took the pics with the lights off to get the best pic for the green algae. I’m open for suggestions to help the bird nest frag.

Great thank you.
The fact you have algae going you don’t test for ammonia any more.

Couple of questions,
How long is the tank running?
How about the test kits you using?
Livestock?
What’s you swing from the Ph?
Temperature?
How often you do a WC, kind of salt?

Tank has been running for 5 months now.
I use the Hanna checker to check for phosphates (PPB then convert to ppm). Red Sea test kit for everything else. Refractometer for salinity.

Livestock was removed and placed in quarantine. Bad case of ich so I am running the tank fallow for 76 days and using copper on the fish.

About a dozen frags and invertebraes in the display tank.

PH stays steady. I have yet to see it swing.

Water temp is 78.5-79.5

Weekly water changes 15-20%. Instant Ocean brand reef salt.

Ok.
The green algae might be also coralline algae, it’s not your concern.
Find it weird you don’t have a swing on the ph.
It’s natural that when the lights are off your Ph drops a little.
Imo the frag was too much stressed but if you see live in it it might bounce back.
Due to you running fallow your tank missing the bioload.
How are your other corals looking?
What’s the time frame left on the fallow?

I’m sure there is s swing in PH between lights on/off. I’ve hi early never tested the parameters when the lights were off. I will test this morning and see what the PH is at and compare to results from this evening.

The rest of the corals are thriving. No issues. I did pick up a handful of zoa colonies from Aquashella show just recently and those corals are bring stubborn.

I have 50 days left on the fallow period. I am still feeding the tank once Daily as if the fish were still present.
