I have two different hammer corals that I bought the same day same place etc. One is a gold branching hammer and one is dual colour branching hammer. They are next to each other in the tank (but not touching).

The dual hammer has doubled in size and it’s always full looking. The gold hammer hasn’t grown at all and one side of the double head seems to be getting smaller.

All the rest of the corals seem to be thriving.

Mag is 450
Calcium is 1230
Alk is 6.7 (I’m supplementing this to bring it up)
Phos is 0.13 (using phos remover)
Ph is 7.8
Nitrate is 10

Hey, with a little help from GPT,
It could be that your alkalinity is a bit low at 6.7, so continuing to supplement that is a good idea, as hammers generally prefer it in the 7-8 dKH range. Low alkalinity can slow down growth and cause stress.
Your phosphate level is also a little high at 0.13, which could be stressing the gold hammer, especially if the phosphate levels are fluctuating as you’re using the remover. Slow and steady adjustments to both alk and phosphate might help the coral bounce back.

Lastly, you might want to consider moving the gold hammer a bit further from the dual-color one, as corals can sometimes release chemicals (allelopathy) that affect neighboring species.
Also, feeding the corals with something like reef roids or mysis shrimp can help them get the nutrients they need to thrive. With some adjustments to light, flow, and water parameters, the gold hammer should hopefully start to improve! Best of luck

Assuming you mixed up your Mag and Cal. If possible bring your Mag to 1350 and keep Cal to 450. Alk needs raised like mentioned above. What are your other parameters? Ammonia and Salinity? Flow or light change? I lost two hammer and my grail last month for no apparent reason...

Ha yes good spot, Mag and calcium are other way ground. 0 ammonia and salinity 1.025. No changes with flow and light
