Have you ever upgraded a tank just because there is one or two fish that you want?

Thanks for all the responses.
I did make the decision to upgrade my tank, and have an Innovative Marine 170 gallon reef ordered and it will replace my 75 gallon. Delivery in 4-6 months.

Now I’m just overwhelmed with how to set it up and transfer everything from the old to the new while in the same spot.

haha! well the brute on wheels with the pump in it did all the heavy lifting, you dont want to move the totes with any weight in them as they will break.

What size tank and what fish?
It’s a Waterbox 190.4, display is just under 140 g and with the sump, total is just under 200 g. I’m in love with a majestic angel and would like 2-3 tangs, a yellow is a must.

Interesting. I had decided on a regal in mine, but I would prefer a majestic since its colors are similar but it is a much hardier fish. I thought a 5’ tank would be too small. If not, I will reconsider!

This is what I found and also 5’ is a minimum.

Don't know how active your area of Indiana is and I know most local reef clubs are no were near as active, engaged or as fun as they where 10+ years ago. Used to be able to reach out to the local club for help moving, relocating, installing stuff, or just swapping frags for pizza and beer, lot of people have a passion for this stuff and are willing to help anyone with the same passion. Might still be something active near ya. I would help for sure if you were closer.

From 12g to 75g to 200g....it's so worth it. I now have over 30 fish in my 200g including 4 big tangs and 10+ anthias

Beautiful fish and tank. I bet you miss it. :confused-face:

Thank you for that!!! I appreciate it.
The entire reef community is so different from how it was 10 years ago, and I’m not sure why. I used to buy frags all the time from other reefers and we all knew each other. I’m from the Chicago area originally, and “Chicago Reef” used to be a vey busy forum in the day. I could have easily found people to help without a problem. I’m just north of Indianapolis now. I miss that sense of community. The local club is INDMAS, so I may try and connect with them. Otherwise I will probably just pay my LFS to help with it.
