Hi all I need some help finding out what's wrong with my foxface. He's got a cloudy eyes, breathing rapidly and staying near the top of the tank(mostly). I thought it may be ick or velvet with his symptoms but i already had coppersafe in the tank. It was 1.75 added some more last night so it should be at 2 now. I have lost several other fish in the past week, but honestly i don't know if it was to disease or not. I had a heater break, temperature dropped and I'm thinking it may have put some voltage in the water.

What is ammonia level and how are you testing and can you post a video of at least 20 seconds under same light intensity?
Also there is a lot of debris in water making it hard to see fish
Is it one or both eyes cloudy?

How long did you have the fish? how soon did you remove your dead inhabitants? I waited too long before removing my dying corals once and it killed some fish as a result of a nutrient spike. Cloudy eyes doesn't always mean disease in my experience atleast.

Just checked both eyes are cloudy. I use hanna test, I don't usually test for ammonia but I had the water tested on Saturday and it was 0 I believe. Oh it's not debris, there air bubbles created by the power filters.

Tis video does not play video, just audio. Shut down the filter for video and you tube version works well on this site

If it was me in this situation and I saw my foxface like this....

I would move the foxface to a petco 10 or 20 gallon long with aeration and heater and some pvc to chill in. Try to get a seachem ammonia alert badge at petco too, I've seen them there. I find it best to isolate in a clean tank with good water is the only way I feel comfortable observing a fish. Although this means moving some of my cycled media from the display into this QT to help with nitrification. Otherwise, you'll need to rely on the badge and change water periodically.

I would only run copper if I see something parasitic. But cloudy eye might just be bacterial. Although, foxface eyes can look cloudy at times --- but your pictures show those eyes as very white'ish.

Here's the link see if that works. Thanks!

Cannot see video clearly. Fish is breathing very rapid and I believe gill issue from flukes, velvet or similar but cannot see fish clearly enough for an assessment.

Thanks for taking a look I appreciate it. I was thinking velvet or flukes. Considering I keep coppersafe in my tank (usually around 1.5 ) but I've upped it the last week to around 2.0 and he's only gotten worse. So I'm switching to prazipro, fingers crossed!

Change water before prazi Pro and do note: Copper begins to take effect at level 2.0. You want 2.25 and dont want to ramp it but rather get to treatment level within 24 hrs as ramping allows a given disease to take hold of the fish
1.5 is ineffective

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. I'm a little apprehensive to go higher than 2 because I usually keep tangs, Angelfish, and triggerfish and I've been told that there all sensitive to copper.
