Fish are good at disappearing, but how good are they at reappearing? When our fish go missing, we can only hope they are just having fun fiddling with our emotions...

How long was your fish "missing" before it reappeared in your tank?

Side note: This thread was inspired by my current predicament. It's day two with no sight of my favorite little fish, Franklin the Firefish. :face-with-spiral-eyes:

I had a chalk bass in my 18" nano cube that went missing. I thought it jumped out and one of my cat's ate it. However, about a week later, I found it in my 45 frag system. It had jumped from one tank to the other, lol.
The way the tanks are against the wall and corner made it even
more amazing.
I have covers on all my systems now.

I’ve had many small fish mysteriously disappear when I had a large coral banded shrimp in my sps display. After I removed the shrimp, no more fish vanished.

Ive read a few, hilarious, stories here with fish missing 6-18 months. Someone found one of them in the overflow... Another only spotted the fish in a picture. Crazy stories!

I know it's common but my melanurus stayed hidden for about 4 days when I first put him in. I'm still waiting and hoping that a watchman goby I put in my tank a month or so ago will show himself. I don't think he made it...:expressionless-face:

Ive had more vanish and never return than anything. Never found my 6 line, no predators in the tank and no pets at home to eat if it jumped.
