First problem is thinking there is only $2 worth of material there. Second problem is thinking the end price is only dictated by material cost. Third problem is there are at least 47 threads already about final costs for lots of products.

Doubt any rare earth is in mine I bought 10yrs ago.... the scrapper is ALWAYS coming off the hand magnet and I'm chasing it around the tank...

This is close to the real problem. A zircon can be made from used GAC, so I never throw mine away. But it also takes a lot of pressure too, which requires energy to make all my girl friends happy. (Don't tell)

The economic pressure of printing 35 trillion dollars is going to start showing its results more and more in the days to come.
