Go down in size from 3/4 tube to 1/2 to 1/4. Or use a rubber band in a pinch to create a quick gasket.
so I would need to buy a new siphon.... or! I could probably use just the hose itself, right? because I'd have that straw...which I have a LOT of those, I make tumblers. I think I will try that, this weekend.

Just wrap the straw with a snapped rubber band to create a seal between the straw and siphon hose. Then get to scraping.
Do you siphon into a sock in your sump? Or is the water questionable for toxins? Meaning, if I want simply siphon Zoa/Pallys out, should I do it in a bucket? Or could I do it into a sock in my sump?
