Hello everyone, so I have a Waterbox 190.5 (196 gal total/136 gal display) and have received the first 1/2 of my TBS rock/sand package. So given that this should result in a fairly instant cycle (I will make sure there is no ammonia and some nitrates before moving foward) how many fish can you add to a system like this at a time? I plan on getting all of my fish quarantined from Dr Reef and hopefully on the small side but not sure how many to get in one order and how much time to wait between orders. Just want to make sure that I am doing what's best for the fish but also as minimally detrimental to my bank account with how expensive shipping is. Thanks for the advice in advance.

I’ve always taken a couple months to stock up on fish from local stores. I would split it between at least 2 orders, starting with more hardy small fish.

I have a 6 foot 135 gal and keep 4 or 5 large fish and 8 or 9 small.

Be sure to add more aggressive tangs, like purples last. You will have a few weeks after most tangs go in before they get real territorial. Smaller tangs first, then bigger ones.

A mirror will help distract existing tangs. Adding multiple fish can help split up the aggression so one fish doesn’t get it all.

There are people way more experienced than I am, but that size tank with live rock and sand, I'd be more concerned with which fish to put in first vs last, and if you're planning on corals, focusing on reef safe fish (not reef safe with caution).
