How many tanks do you run? FW or Saltwater, even Macroalgae to Mangroves?

I appreciate you. I think my silly ramblings keep many people away. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
Not what so ever. You're hardly the only rambler on here by far. I can't do the large tanks any longer and I really don't want to. So I admire from far because big systems are a whole different science on their own.

:)

For some reason I tagged your as having many more tanks. Is there a thread on the 150?

No, I am lazy :)

Multiple tanks sound great in my head but that is also more time... and vacationing/leaving town becomes more difficult.

Oh good lord, you're a jack of all aquariums trades.
I joined a FW Shrmp sit, that's serious stuff. Breeders are very involved, I never knew there was such a big market.
Yeah I got pretty involved in the shrimp thing in 2019. Built a rack with 12-10g tanks with matten filters run by a very large air pump. Had a few verities. The blues are the last of them. I have slowly started phasing out fresh water stuff as I have been getting more involved with saltwater again. The ropefish, bichirs, and fahak are all I am planning on keeping from the fresh water.

I have 5, possibly downgrading this year.

IM 15G w/LPS
IM 15G w/SPS
IM 25G Frag system
IM 40G SPS Growout
Aquaforest Oceanguard 605 (114G) DT new setup
Because you're going to have some place to put those coral grow outs now.
Possibly means the grow out tank sits in the garage until we have another SW epiphany.

You're speaking a whole different language. I will be doing some research.
The shrimp actually peeked my interest, but after checking it out I realized it's a lot more involved then going to the LFS and sticking a random FW shrimp in with your Betta.

5 kinda, all nanos.
SW - 20g mixed reef w/clams
SW - 20g macros/softies/anemone/mangrove (no dosing)
SW - 5g pico SPS/clam
FW - 5g planted betta, used to be ADFs (technically this is my wife's tank)
FW - ~2.5g office shrimp tank / epiphyte project
So hoping you have build threads on the Picos. You had my attention at clams.

I have 2 reef tanks and a seahorse tank
Hmmm. I didn't realize you kept sea horses. I have always wanted to but it's my understanding they do much better with lower temperatures. Then you have the feeding challenges. It seems like a significant commitment.

I have 2, both mixed reef. 180g and 200g, 5 and 3 years in. One in the Living Room and one in a Casita (aka Man Cave) behind our house. I like being able to move corals from one tank to the other and experiment with some tweaks in 1 tank and not the other to see how the coral responds.

Oh yeah it is way more involved. Differences in caridina and neocaridina and their requirements (neos so much easier).

Wow you have some beauties! Are those purple Stylophora (a coral that has always hated me)? Radion lighting?

So hoping you have build threads on the Picos. You had my attention at clams.
The pico build tread is... underloved... but exists at https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/3-gal-pico-frag-tank-diy-build.962072/ The build is very weird as started as a different DIY acrylic I failed at and never got stocked, eventually another DIY project built this pico that held enough. so the thread is weird. It's been wet almost 8 months but BB and has been slower stabilizing so not tons of updates. it has been housing my ~6 mo derasa growout though - https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/tiny-derasas-grow-fast.1067690/

my main 20g with clams is https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/20-long-aio-build.952179/ and is a bit better documented. Current clams are a derasa, 2 maximas, and a hippopus. You're also a clam head right?

I have a 20g mixed reef and a 40oz (20 oz display, 20 oz sump) that is just live rock and lots of tiny life. Weirdly enough, the pico is my favorite tank right now. I feel like there is so much more to look at even though it’s wayyy smaller than my other tank. Live rock really does make a difference!

I am cycling a six gallon Pico, another month it will be ready. BRS has Hippos right now. Hippos are a favorite, right behind Crocea. I really need to up my Pico game. Thank you for the links.

I will go check it out again. I like smaller tanks, so much easier to work with and equipment is so much more convenient. You can only buy so much livestock to go in a Pico.

:)

So true! I haven’t bought anything specifically to put in it, which is great because the hitchhikers fill it up. My live rock came with a small snail and a tiny little crab, but since Ive set the system up I’ve also discovered all kinds of life! A coral, gross worms, lots of barnacles and feather dusters, micro brittle stars, and lots of other stuff. It’s so fascinating to watch!
