I plan on having a fuge tank built and it will be placed next to my sump. I dont want light leakage from the fuge to affect the sump and have algae or whatever growing so I plan to use smoked glass. How well do you think it would block the light to prevent algae from growing?

Not sure what smoked glass is. Why use glass to block light? Why not use light blocking material to cover glass?

Will likely be cheaper and more effective to use some vinyl wrap/paint on the sides you need to cover since it's a separate tank vs using smoked glass.

Not all that well from the AIOs that use it, quite a bit of light bleed if one tries to put a fuge in them, just paint the outsides of the tank? Or even just wrap them?

Black tinted glass. some use it to make the back wall or internal overflow boxes with it.

I had the option to use it when building my fuge. Thought I could get away from painting/sticking anything on it.
Or have one made out of black acrylic instead of glass?
Thats going to be more expensive with thicker material and a chance of it still bowing

Not looking for total blackout, but just enough to prevent algae growth in my sump
