I have not fed any nori in almost a decade. I am not against it, or anything, when fed with other foods, but just don't get around to it.

Spirulina is one of the main ingredients in most good pellets - it is in New Life Spectrum. They also get vitamin A and E from the pellets. It is mostly NLS and Formula 2 pellets for me along with Mysis.

I rotate between nori (soaked in garlic), spectrum pellets (the absolute best for coloring up tangs) and then brine/mysis. I feel like a good rotation is necessary for happy healthy tangs.

I'm interested in hearing feedback. My first tang (white tail brisletooth) will arrive this Friday. I planned on feeding Hikari Seaweed Extreme as an substitute for nori sheets.
My whitetail doesn’t touch the nori. He’s constantly picking on the rocks & glass though.

I used to feed it from a clip and my sail fin would tear the entire sheet out every time. I tried 3 different clip styles. I quit for a while after this because the sheet would get lost in the rocks and decay.

I purchased an IM Gourmet Grazer and now I feed a sheet every other day. It’s a great way to feed it. Sailfin, hippo, and clown all eat it.

Nori is a staple in my tanks, because it’s hardly just tangs that eat it. Angels, pyramid butterflies, wrasses, cardinals, etc all go after it.

They rip the sheets up quickly, but there are little flakes swirling around or settling in rocks and the bottom that the fish graze on all day. Gives behavioral enrichment on top of nutrition.

That's good to hear as i wasn't looking forward to using the sheets. I picked up Hikari Extreme Seaweed pellets figured it would like those and so would my Foxface.

I feed nori around 5 days a week. I have found that if you don't feed your tangs nori or another good source of seaweed they will develop Hole in Head and Latteral Line Disease . Mine did while I was holidaying for 8 weeks. Got them back to good health after two months of a high level of nori feeding. Cheers

@Dsnakes I just checked out the IM feeders very practical Thanks !
I soak my nori what little I feed in vitachem. I surprised at all the tangs that won't eat. As mentioned I think they are lazy !

I always plan to but my dog seems to find the package before it can get to the tangs.

I feed mine 2-3 times a wk, even my 2 wrasses tear it up. I cut the sheets to 1" strips width wise & fold 1 pc in half when i put it on the clip, very little is wasted at all. 3 tangs, 3 Dwarf angels & my RH Solon Fairy & melanaras wrasse destroy it pretty quick

Most defiantly do I cut into strips and use a rubber O-ring to attach the nori to a 1” piece of PVC pipe. I have 4 tangs and as soon as they see that piece of pipe coming they attack it.

I do but I have no algae in the tank for my tang to graze on, other than the film that forms on the glass. I don't think that's sufficient for him.

I’m of the opinion that variety is the most important, Nori sometimes, frozen, flake, pellet foods. In addition I feed Dulce seaweed and roe. My Tangs are as fat as Tangs that I’ve seen in the wild

I think Tangs need variety. Nori sometimes, flake or pellets, frozen foods and fresh. Also Dulce seaweed occasionally. The ocean provides variety so we should strive too as much as we can!

I literally feed 8-10 sheets daily. I mix and match the ones I buy on amazon with TLF, Rods and any other I can find. I make Nori burritos to get more finicky fish to try other foods as well.
