I have some new acros and and anaacropora I seem to have the par level correct and all the chemistry levels are correct. how long till polyps come out

I have some new acros and and anaacropora I seem to have the par level correct and all the chemistry levels are correct. after placing them in your tank how long till you see polyps start to come out?

Is this a theoretical question or do you have corals whose polyps seem retracted?

I added them to the tank yesterday day. Have not seen and polyps on them yet.will it take a while for them to acclimate and then come out?

Polyp extension isnt a definitive sign of health or "happiness". Flow can play a roll too. I have a couple acros that are growing fine but have little to no polyp extension. But if all stuff is good give it a couple days to acclimate.

Also do you light aclimate your acros when you get them if so for how many days?

I’ve always read that and believed that till now! Well my current tank anyways.. if them polyps are all out during the day I’ve noticed a great increase in growth from when they’re not. I’ve never owned a tank in my 20 years of reefing that grows like my current one and never had the pe I do in this tank! Unless you got some fish pecking at them during the light schedule I think it makes a difference if they’re out or not during the day! Just been my experience.

Good luck with polyp extension on acros. There are 1000 variables and each frag has different "personality". You can start by praying to the moon goddess when the tide is highest.
