interesting. I can honestly spot a wild cut acro instantly. My question, is there any real interest for those that really don't know how to distinguish between the two in learning more about it?

I mean do you (the collective you) feel like you have been duped if you bought an acro believing it was farmed, if it wasn't? Or again do we even care anymore?

Because if not, I am going to start buying Maris, chopping them up, and having weekly sales and auctions too! I mean what is the point of aquaculture then? "Chopping" is so much easier. Why have I been I punishing myself like this for all these years? lol
Once it's in a system and colored up what's the trick to knowing it was or wasn't wild?

First off thanks for the metallica, ive had and justice going all morning on the work comp.. {see Adams insta) :)
Second, no way could I tell from a frag if it was wild or captive.
Third would I want to know, absolutely and I would feel 100 percent duped if it was not a F2 and being sold as aquaculture.

Mostly structural nuances that are very consistent with wild growth.

Not an easy thing to just learn I’ll admit, but I’d be happy to start a thread detailing all of this kind of stuff with pics and explanations and everything if there was genuine interest. In the spirit of educating any potential customer out there.

I'm open to learning. But could you audience be serious long enough to get through the lesson?

Duped? Not really. Ot would be great to know more clearly what coral can and can't be aquacultured (thinking mostly about lps here), I feel more due buying something that has survived and some well in a tank already. Gives me better odds and saves me money in the long run.

I probably couldn’t tell the difference and would love to recognize the difference. There’s honestly only a few vendors I trust now. I learned the hard way chop shop usually comes with other problems, pests, and you may end up buying the same piece under two different names later a couple weeks apart once it colors up/down again.

Battlecorals is rare quality, value, and customer service that you don’t find in the chop shops… don’t ever change

Or even worse yet, the same "high-end" name but not from the same original colony.

Given enough time, even the life sustaining elements corrupt, erode and corrode. Even the life giving energy of the sun, sometimes we get some fun gamma rays and they will flip bits within our computer memory (not to speak of UV or any other rays... gotta keep it light). I would posit that the power that knowledge brings, does not corrupt intrinsically, but enhance those tendencies deep in the heart of man, good for good, corruption for corruption.

Man, I miss all those good cartoons. Of all the junk out that my kids are watching, I think the only one really worth watching now is Bluey. Everything else feels like brain rot. - 'Nice parking spot, Rita'

Well that was a lot more than I expected. Just finished a podcast talking about why atom Bombadil could handle the one ring without it affecting him. He's just better than that.

T. Bomba is probably my favorite character in the whole series. His flippant attitude towards the whole mess created by the races of middle earth, coupled with Tolkien's intentional vagueary due to his poetic origin creates a desire to know more of that which is unknowable.
