A few months ago I bought a blast from a LPS. It was one of my first corals I purchases and I was super new to reefing. But I'm having doubts because of how small it is. The colony is only about an inch in diameter. It seem way too small to be a blasto. It hasn't grown at all but is puffy and eats when I feed. I just want to know if I was told correctly about what kind of coral it is.

Yes it is. The only thing is you got a blasto merletti while you're thinking of blasto wellsi.

Merletti are the "mini versions" and are pretty popular- they tend to sell out pretty fast. It's cool you got one as one of your first corals.

Looks like it has grown some, the only thing it was cut as a frag piece in kind of a 'skyscaper' form. Either as a single or only a couple polyps sitting on a narrow/skinny overly tall skeleton/base. So the new polyps had nowhere to go but down the steep sides. The growth will be far more noticeable once the colony reaches the main rockwork and gets to spread out sideways rather than 'downwards'.
